Pak general election: Former PM Abbasi and Imran Khan's nomination papers rejected

There will be general elections to be held in neighboring Pakistan on 25th of July. These elections are historic because the previous government was the second government that had completed its five year term.





Islamabad: In a shock to big leaders, the Election Commission of Pakistan today dismissed the nomination papers of former prime minister and PML-N leader Shahid Khakon Abbasi and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan's nomination papers for the NA-53 constituency of Islamabad.

According to a news story of the Dawn newspaper, the Election Officer rejected the nomination papers for Abbasi and his nominee Sardar Mahtab for NA-53. Both the candidates failed to file an affidavit as per the requirement.

According to election officials, Abbasi did not submit tax returns with his documents. The candidates have said that on Tuesday the challenge to the decision in the election tribunal has been challenged. Khan's nomination papers were rejected due to lack of full information.

Historically, these elections letyou know that there will be general elections to be held in neighboring Pakistan on 25th July. These elections are historic because the previous government was the second government that had completed its five year term.

You would have known that India and Pakistan got together independence. But aside from the emergency imposed for 18 months in India in 1975, there has always been a democratic government. At the same time, in Pakistan, no democratic government has been able to complete its term except the previous two governments.
